According to research conducted July of 2013 by Entrepreneur Weekly, Small Business Development Center, Bradley University, and the University of Tennessee, most small businesses will fail within the first four years of business. In fact, if the business is in the information industry, that failure rate is 63%. Moreover, only a fraction of companies, according to the report, will hold their doors open after 10 years. Yet TimeClock Plus, now 25 years old, has not only become one of the nation’s most recognized time and attendance leaders with growth in sales, facility, and market share, the company has done so, surprisingly, in West Texas.


The city of San Angelo is regarded by many as one of the best small cities for business and employment, ranking 7th in the nation in the 2010 Forbes Magazine’s Best Cities For Jobs. With all the city has to offer it is still not a city where one would expect to find a thriving technology company.
